DuPont Engineering Polymers and Biesterfeld Plastic extend collaboration for Vespel® Parts and Shapes to Germany and the United Kingdom

Mechelen, February 2009. Effective April 1st, 2009, DuPont Engineering Polymers has appointed Biesterfeld Plastic as its distributor for DuPont(TM) Vespel® parts and shapes in Germany and the United Kingdom. The new agreement regarding this range of high performance polyimide parts and shapes further extends the European area of representation of Biesterfeld Plastic for the Vespel® product line beyond Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Benelux and Eastern Europe.

DuPont's decision to appoint Biesterfeld Plastic as its distributor for these key countries combines the strong, local sales coverage and technical expertise of Biesterfeld with the innovative solutions and downstream market access provided by DuPont.

"Our channel partners are crucial to bring the Vespel® value to our customers. We are convinced that Biesterfeld is the right choice as our growth partner for Germany and the UK as has been proven by partnership in other European countries," says Son Do Phan, business manager Vespel® Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA).  "Biesterfeld's commitment to excellence is complementary to the DuPont Vespel® strategy of delivering big science, part by part, faster then ever before."

Carsten Harms, general manager of Biesterfeld Plastic Europe adds: "This move allows us to extend our comprehensive partnership with DuPont Engineering Polymers to the UK and further strengthens our close cooperation. We will invest in providing both strong local and technical support dedicated to the growth of Vespel® parts and shapes in these two key markets, while leveraging our existing partnership in other countries to the benefit of Vespel® customers."

The broad range of DuPont high performance solutions offered under the Vespel® brand is diverse with many applications in a broad cross-section of industries including automotive, transportation, aerospace, semicon and material handling.
